Kemi Adeosun is the Founder of Dash Me Foundation which raises funds and awareness for small indigenous charities and groups working with orphaned and vulnerable children, disadvantaged youth and victims of domestic violence. Dash Me commenced in Nigeria but has ambitions to serve the West and Central Africa region.
She is the immediate past Minister of Finance – Federal Republic of Nigeria, finance professional with over 33 years of experience, gained internationally and within Nigeria. Her tenure as Minister coincided with a period in which Nigeria was facing considerable economic challenges. She introduced a number of innovative policies to steer the economy back to growth. Her initiatives included a widely acclaimed Whistle-blower Scheme, a technology-led solution to the perennial ‘ghost worker’ problem and tax credits to encourage private sector participation in road construction. Between 2011 and 2015, she served as Commissioner for Finance in Ogun State Government, being the first woman to hold that post. Prior to her sojourn into public office, she was inter alia Managing Director (Chapel Hill Denham Management) and Senior Manager with PWC UK.
Mrs. Adeosun is a Chartered Accountant being a member of both the Institutes of Chartered Accountants England and Wales (ICAEW) and of Nigeria (ICAN). She is a graduate of Applied Economics from the University of East London, holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Financial Management from the University of London and a Masters in Public Administration from the London School of Economics.
Apart from being a lover of good food, old school music and Sudoku, Kemi is passionate about ministry, working with Church youth teams in UK and Nigeria. She is also a loud advocate of encouraging women to invest.
